What is a subscription website?

A subscription website is an online platform that offers content, services, or products to users in exchange for a recurring fee. Users typically sign up for a subscription plan and pay a periodic fee, such as monthly or annually, to access the website’s content or services. 

We offer a subscription-based web design platform on which we custom design, build, host, and maintain your website. There’s no lock-in contract, no large upfront costs, and no drawn-out build times.

Designing and building a website can be expensive,  especially for small businesses with limited budgets. Some business owners may not be able to afford the often large upfront costs of hiring a professional web developer or web designer. Additionally, maintaining a website takes time and effort. Many business owners simply don’t have the time or the know-how to build and/or maintain a website while also running their business.

Our website subscription platform is designed to reinvent the way you think about web design. We bring together our expertise in hosting, security, and web management, together with our flair for creative design, making all this available to you as part of our subscription platform. From as little as $15 a week*, you can get online and start getting noticed!

Here’s how it works:

1. Sign Up

Simply fill in the form to sign up to our website subscription platform. A one-off, non-refundable fee is payable on sign up (but if you don’t love your new website on review and decide not to go ahead you’re free to cancel, at no cost).

2. Design + Development

After signing up you’ll need to supply us with your logo, photos, content, brand kit (if applicable), and any other information you think is necessary to complete your new website. (Don’t have content or a logo? – talk to us about more options).

3. Review

Your new website will be ready for review within 21 business days from sign up*. You’ll get a staging website link for your new site, so you can take a look and make any tweaks (final adjustments need to be requested within 14 business days of receiving staging link).

4. Go Live

Your website subscription payments will commence one week after receiving the staging link, but don’t worry, your website won’t go live until you’re 100% happy and have given us the go-ahead.

What's Included In Our Website Platform Subscription?

1. Premium High Speed Hosting

Having your website hosted overseas can cause noticeable performance issues for visitors in Australia because each request has to travel significantly further to load the content on your web page. Additionally, the SEO of your website can be affected by the location of your hosting provider. Our hosting is based in Australia in a high-security data centre providing dependable and consistent performance for your website, as well as real-time support.

2. SSL Certificate

SSL, more commonly called TLS, is a protocol for encrypting internet traffic and verifying server identity. Websites with SSL certificates are considered to be more trustworthy for users and rank higher with Google. Authentication and encryption are particularly important when receiving private data and payments, as with an e-commerce site. We ensure all our hosted sites have a current SSL certificate installed and activated.

3. Anti-Hack Security

We used advanced third-party security software to optimise your website and avoid spam, hacking, and other security issues.

4. Regular Platform + Plugin Updates

Your site is kept regularly updated with the latest versions of plugins and add-ons to ensure smooth performance and functionality.

5. Load Speed Optimisation

Your pages are optimised for fast load times, important to both your users and for your ranking with Google.

6. Quick Start or Standard Build Options

Our quick start web design build comes with up to four (4) fully mobile responsive pages, depending on your requirements OR a one-page design, with up to four (4) distinct sections, whichever is your preference. This option is perfect for a small start-up or a business wanting a vibrant and minimal online presence.

Our standard web design offering comes with up to seven (7) fully mobile responsive pages, depending on your requirements, which will give you a professional and engaging web presence.

You will need to provide the content (words and specific images) for each page (we will also select non-specific images to include on your site). An average website page contains approximately 100 to 500 words, with larger pages containing 500 to 1,000 words. We’re happy to proofread the supplied wording, and may make some suggestions to the wording as it relates to on-page SEO.

7. E-Commerce Options

E-commerce isn’t included in our quick start or standard build options, but it’s definitely something we can add on. If an online shop is part of your requirements, let’s chat about the best way to integrate this into your website.

8. Website Access

Are you looking to run a blog on your site? Author access can be assigned to you so that you can post your articles to the site. If you have signed up for our standard build subscription, you do get one hour of free content edits per month, however, so you might like to take advantage of this and have us do it for you!

9. Intellectual Property

Any intellectual property (content, images etc) remains yours, but it’s important to understand that you are signing up for a subscription website plan, which means you don’t own the website outright.

The reason for this is that we want to make it as easy and as affordable as possible for businesses to have beautiful, functional websites, with all the background extras (maintenance, hosting, security), without the large upfront costs. It also ensures the high-performing websites we build stay that way once they go live, without our customers needing to worry about taking care of them or updating them, and without inexperienced users inadvertently deleting or modifying critical processes, information, or design elements.

However, if you’ve been with us for 24 months or more and decide to cancel our services or would like to move to another provider, we will happily facilitate the full transfer of your website to your new provider (see our terms and conditions).

What's Included In Our Website Design + Build

4. E-Commerce Options

If you select an E-commerce website build, your site will need additional third-party addons and/or plugins for commerce functionality, dependant on your particular requirements. We will let you know what these are and the associated costs before proceeding. These costs will be invoiced seperately to the cost of the website build.

The set up of your store and site build are included in our design + build costs, as well as up to six (6) standard products including images. 

5. Website Access

If your site is hosted with us, we will maintain admin access (so as to faciliate regular security, platform, and plugin updates. If you would like access for editing and / or content updates, please let us know in writing the name and email address of the person/s you wish to nominate. Alternatively, we’re happy to complete edits or content updates on your behalf, charged out at our hourly rate of $99 inc GST.

It’s important to note that having your website hosted overseas (or with cheaper, low value providers) can cause noticeable performance issues for visitors in Australia because each request has to travel significantly further to load the content on your web page. Additionally, the SEO of your website can be affected by the location of your hosting provider. Our hosting is based in Australia in a high-security data centre and provides dependable and consistent performance, as well as real-time support. If you elect to have your site hosted with us, hosting costs are billed separately every month. 

If your site is not hosted with us, you are solely responsible for the maintenance, hosting requirements, security, backups, and updates to your site after project completion and full admin access is provided to you. 

6. Intellectual Property

All intellectual property (content, images etc) remains yours and you own your website outright. If your site has been hosted with us, and you wish to move to another hosting provider, we simply require 30 days notice and are very happy to help you faciliate a transfer to your nominated vendor. Any outstanding invoices are required to be finalised before the transfer can be initiated. There is no cost to transfer your site to another provider.
